The President of the Islamic Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh, Babili Mansa has received congratulatory messages from Gambian Ambassadors on the occasion of the 2016 Eid Ul-Fitr, locally referred to as Koriteh.

The Ambassadors include: His Excellency Kebba S. Touray, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco; His Excellency Momodou Badjie, the Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey; His Excellency Famara Kassy Gaye, Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria; His Excellency Bala Garba Jahumpa, Ambassador Designate to India, and His Excellency Lang Yabou, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain. The messages read:

Goodwill Message on Occasion of Eid Al Fitr

Your Excellency,

On behalf of my family, the staff of the Embassy in Rabat, the Gambian community in Morocco, Cyprus and Tunisia, and on my own behalf, I convey to Your Excellency and your family, and to the Gambian people, well wishes and prayers on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

May Allah the Almighty Allah accept our prayers throughout the holy month of Ramadan and to shower abundant blessings, peace and prosperity to the Gambian people and nation.

Your Excellency, on this auspicious occasion, whiles some of us reflect and celebrate, others in the Islamic Ummah are still faced with terror and war and we take this opportunity to pray for the return of sustained peace and stability to those troubled regions.

We also pray for your continued good health, leadership and fulfillment of all desired development goals for our Homeland, The Gambia.

Congratulatory Message on the Auspicious Occasion of Year 2016 Eid-Ul Fitr Celebration

Your Excellency,

On behalf of my family, staff and families, students, Gambian community in the Republic of Turkey as well as in my own name, I wish to sincerely extend a hearty congratulation to Your Excellency, the First Family, Government and people of the Islamic Republic of The Gambia on the occasion of the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations.

In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, which has just ended, we felicitate and rejoice with Your Excellency and your family for the opportunity Allah (SWT) has given us to witness yet another Eid-Ul-Fitr and praying that it is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor bringing Gambians and Muslims in harmony and gratitude.

We pray that Allah accept the supplications of the faithful and bestow unparalled blessings on the Muslims Umma and humanity at large.

I wish to use this solemn occasion, to pray fervently for Allah to bless Your Excellency’s stewardship so that the current challenges of governance can become a stepping-stone to greatness and more prosperity for your programmes, policies and pronounced visions in respect of our nation’s growth and development.

Finally, I wish to join many well wishers to use the spiritual renewed and rejuvenation gained in the Ramadan to pray for the good health, joy, long life and prosperity of Your Excellency and family.

Eid Ul-Fitr Message

On behalf of my family and my humble self, I write from Spain with great pleasure to extend sincere greetings and heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency, the First Family and the entire Gambian people on the auspicious occasion of the Eid-Ul-Fitr locally called “Koriteh” in the Islamic Republic of The Gambia.

The Eid-Ul-Fitr is one of the most important feasts in the Islamic calendar as it marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan with moment of peace, unity, harmony and prosperity. It is the feast that binds the Islamic Ummah, humanity together and brings cordial relationships among people for progress and development.

Your Excellency’s humanitarian gestures to humanity and nurturing of our societal norms and values in accordance with the Islamic tenets, lifting our morals, continue to create the necessary conducive environment to everyone irrespective of religious background.

Whilst I extend my best wishes to Your Excellency on this occasion, I pray that the Almighty Allah grant you good health and long life to celebrate many more “Koritehs” in the years ahead with the entire humanity in peace and harmony.

As Muslims in the world prepares to celebrate the Holy Feast of Eid Al Fitr commonly known as “Koriteh”, it gives me great pleasure and honour on behalf of the entire staff of The Gambia Embassy, Madrid, Spain, our families, on my own behalf and the entire Gambian Communities and friends of The Gambia residing in the jurisdiction of the Embassy to convey to Your Excellency and family and the Government and the entire Gambian people our heartfelt congratulations and sincere best wishes on this joyous occasion.

In joining Your Excellency and family, the Government and People of The Gambia in celebrating this auspicious day, we pray to Allah Subhanah Wa Ta’ala to continue granting Your Excellency and family and the entire Gambian Nation continued personal well-being, long life, peace, stability, greater prosperity and success.
