Hundreds of Gambians and non-Gambians alike on Saturday night converged at the Independence Stadium for a banquet hosted by the President of the Islamic Republic of The Gambia as part of activities marking the 22nd anniversary of the glorious 22nd July Revolution.
The event was attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon Abdoulie Bojang; cabinet ministers; National Assembly Members, regional governors, district chiefs, and APRC party militants from the various regions.
Also in attendance was the visiting Nigerian actor and comedian, John Okafor widely known by his nickname, Mr. Ibu, who treated the crowd to an esctatic comedy performance. Mr Ibu used the event to reaffirm his readiness to work with the Government and people of The Gambia.
The nightlong event was characterised by musical performances from Gambia’s finest artistes and cultural groups.
