King of Yoruba Community in Gambia Gives to SOS Children

The King of the Yoruba Community in The Gambia, His Royal Highness, Oba (Rtn) Dr. Moshood Kolawole Babalola Abolade (JP) Ariwajoyel (1), recently donated food and non-food items to the children of SOS Village in Bakoteh. The move was part of activities marking his 50th birthday celebration.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the SOS assistant village Director, Omar Beyai commended His Royal Highness Ariwajoyel for the concern he has for the children of SOS village.

The items presented to the children he went on, would be useful to the institution.

Beyai described the move as something worthy of emulation by other people both in the country and beyond.

He use the forum to wish His Royal Highness many more in returns, saying their role at the Village is to take care of children who lost parental care and children that are also at risk of parental care.

“Let me informed HRH Ariwajoyel that we have another SOS Village in the Upper River Region located along the newly constructed Basse-Sabi Welingara Highway,” he stated.

Presenting the items, His Royal Highness, Oba (Rtn) Dr. Moshood Kolawole Babalola Abolade (JP) Ariwajoyel (1), King of the Yoruba Community in The Gambia, said the move was in commemoration of his 50th birthday.

“At SOS Children they need help from within and outside the country because the institution cannot do all, so people need to do their part whether in kind or  cash to support the village,” he stated.

He promised officials at the village that this is not going to be the last presentation, as he would continue to do more for the institution in the near future.

Similarly, His Royal Highness Ariwajoyel also donated stationeries to Busumbala-Farato Lower Basic School as part of activities marking his 50th birthday celebration.
