The President, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh, Babili Mansa continues to receive congratulatory messages on the 22nd anniversary of the July 22nd celebrations. The latest to write to the Presidency include Mr. Ebrima Jawara, President of The Gambia Golf Association, Ms. Elizabeth F.Y. Renner, former Speaker of the National Assembly of The Gambia, and Mr. Tamsir Jallow of Kanilai village. The messages read:

Congratulations on the 22nd Anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution

On behalf of the Chief Patron, Committee and Members of The Gambia Golf Association (GGA), and on behalf of me and my entire family, it is with the greatest joy and humility that I wish Your Excellency and the First Family a blessed Eid Al Fitr, and to take this opportunity to congratulate Your Excellency and all Gambians and non-Gambians alike, on the 22nd anniversary of the July 2nd Revolution.

We pray to the Almighty Allah (SWT) for the peaceful and successful celebrations, as we reflect on the successes of the last 22 years under your Excellency’s divine leadership, and brace ourselves to collectively turn the inevitable challenges we shall face this year and beyond, into greater opportunities, under Your Excellency’s continued leadership and guidance.

The numerous developments registered in our dear nation over the last 22 years, across all sectors of the economy and spheres of our lives have been well documented for posterity. In the area of sports and the game of golf in particular, Your Excellency’s moral and physical support has resulted in the following achievements amongst numerous others:

  • Establishment of a national governing body for golf.
  • For the first time The Gambia became affiliated to the world governing bodies for golf-The R & A and International Golf Federation (IGF).
  • Record number of Certified Gambian Golf Professionals.
  • Professional prize money increased exponentially.
  • Golf academy established.
  • Golf introduced at the lower basic school level.
  • Junior golfers sponsored with equipment and tuition.
  • A national golf handicapping system introduced.
  • A national anti-doping policy approved by the IGF adopted.

Once again we wish to congratulate Your Excellency on the 22nd Anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution and continue to pray to the Almighty Allah (SWT) for Your Excellency’s good health, happiness and success. We also pray to the Creator of the Universe for the peace and security we take for granted in the Islamic Republic of The Gambia to prevail, as our nation continues to enjoy more developments, under Your Excellency’s leadership and guidance.

A Word of Gratitude to My Dearest President Babili Mansa

On behalf of my family and on my own behalf, I hereby express my sincere gratitude to you for awarding me full scholarship to study General Management and Policy Analysis both at Certificate and Diploma levels at the Management Development Institute (MDI).

However I was not astonished when you accepted my application because you have a beautiful heart as a good Muslim who is always ready to give aid to Gambians and even non-Gambians alike.

I congratulate the First Lady Madam Zainab Yahya Jammeh and her team for initiating Operation Save the Children Foundation, it is a good initiative towards developing socio-economic development of The Gambia as a nation.

In conclusion. May God the Almighty Allah grant you long life Your Excellency and give you good health in order to pursue all your objectives for our nation, The Islamic Republic of The Gambia especially the vision 2016, 2020, 2025 and beyond. (Grow what you eat and eat what you grow). Insha Allah….
