Monday’s downpour has led to a setback in the proceeding of the 33 million Dalasi theft trial of Babucarr Badjie, a former employee of Pre-Mix Oil company, as the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court’s Principal Magistrate Hilary Abeke adjourned the case to 30th August 2016, for hearing.
In the last proceeding of the case, the accused person’s defence counsel, Pa Harry Jammeh requested for the third prosecution witness, Ousman Jammeh, the company’s Operation Manager, to produce his academic qualifications to the court to justify a report he claimed to have written against the accused person.
The case is now adjourned for defence counsel Pa Harry Jammeh to continue cross-examination of the witness.
By virtue of his position as finance officer of the Associated Pre-mix Oil Company Ltd, Babucarr Badjie is charged with stealing thirty-three million Dalasis from his employer between the months of January and December, 2015.
