Superior Courts to Go on Vacation

Superior Courts of The Gambia, comprising the High Court, Gambia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court would commence their annual summer vacation effective 1st August 2016 according to information pasted on the judicial notice board.

According to the notice, information signed by the Master of High Court, Honourable Buba Jawo on behalf of the Chief Justice of The Gambia Emmanuel Justice Fagbenle, the 2016 summer vacation shall start from 1st August 2016 for the superior courts of The Gambia.

The notice further indicated that Lord Justice Ogar Edward Eneji would be the vacation judge for the month of August whereas Lord Justice Otaba Etangara Obo would be the vacation judge for the month of September 2016. The courts shall resume sitting effective October 2016.

However, the lower courts (Magistrates’ Courts) are not affected by the summer vacation. They would continue to sit and preside over cases throughout the vacation.
