The Gambia Bankers Association (TGBA) on Wednesday presented office equipment to the Judiciary in a presentation ceremony held at the High Court in Banjul.
The donated items include five Dell computers, a giant printer and one giant photocopier. The items combined is worth 300,000.
Speaking at a brief handing over ceremony, the Executive Secretary of The Gambia Bankers Association, Mamour Jagne, said he formed the Association in order to contribute to national development.
“The Judiciary is not exempted as they play a crucial role in maintaining peace in the country,” he added, while assuring them of his Association’s continues support at all times.
Receiving the items, the Chief Justice of The Gambia, Emmanuel O Fagbenle, expressed appreciation to The Gambia Bankers Association for their unflinching support to the Judiciary.
“We really appreciate the support because we need computers so that we can modernise the Judiciary and it will be helpful in keeping records,” he said
He added that the donated items would be used for it’s intended purpose.
