On the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr, it gives me great pleasure to send Your Excellency my warmest greetings, along with my best wishes for good health, happiness and well-being. I also wish your people continued progress and prosperity.

As Muslims around the world celebrate this auspicious occasion, they humbly request Almighty God to accept their fasting, their prayers and their charitable deeds, and bestow on them His bountiful blessings for extolling, praising and thanking Him.  This is a solemn religious occasion during which we implore the Almighty -may He be glorified and exalted- to grant success to the Muslim Ummah so that it may rise to the challenges confronting it, and become stronger and more dignified. May He consolidate Muslims’ adherence to their pristine faith, to the moderation and tolerance underpinning Islam, and to the lofty values it advocates, including those of mutual assistance, solidarity and fraternity, so that our Ummah may make abundant contributions to enriching human civilization.

I also pray that you may celebrate Eid again and again, and I wish your country continued progress and success.  May the Almighty assist us in our endeavors to fulfill the aspirations of our peoples, who look forward to further progress and prosperity, in a safe, stable environment.

Yours sincerely,

Mohammed VI
